Privacy policy

Effective date: 3 November 2026.

1. Introduction and scope

This privacy policy explains how personal data is collected, used, shared and protected when you visit becomeamaister.com (the “Website”) or use the services offered through it, including the free guides and learning environment, the community, and the paid trainings (together, the “Services”).

In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the data controller identified in section 2, and “you” refers to any person whose personal data we process in connection with the Website or the Services.

We apply the standards of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the UK GDPR to all personal data we process, regardless of where you are located. Where the law of your country of residence grants you additional rights, those rights also apply.

2. Data controller

The data controller responsible for your personal data is M2X Technologies, which operates Maister.

You may contact us about this policy or about your personal data at hello@becomeamaister.com.

3. Personal data we collect

3.1 Account and access to the guides

When you request access to a guide, join the community or sign in to the learning environment, we collect your email address and the date of your request. Your email address serves as your account identifier; no password is created. We also record which guide chapters you have opened, in order to show your progress and return you to where you left off.

3.2 Training enrollments and seat reservations

When you enroll in a training or reserve a seat, we collect your name, email address, WhatsApp number, role, organization (where provided), country (where provided), your level of experience with AI, the dates on which you are available, and the information you provide about the work you intend to bring to the training.

3.3 Payments

Payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. Your card details are provided directly to Stripe and are not received or stored by us. We receive confirmation of payment, the amount paid and limited card information, such as the card type and the last four digits.

3.4 Enquiries

When you contact us through a form or by email, we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, email address, organization, country and the content of your message.

3.5 Website feedback and reviews

When you share your website with us for feedback, we collect the address of your website, your name, your email address, an optional description of your business and your choice as to whether your website may be shown in our showcase. When you review a guide, we collect your rating, your review, your name, an optional website address and your choice as to whether your review may be quoted. If you are signed in, your review is also linked to your email address.

3.6 Information stored on your device

The Website stores a limited amount of information in your browser’s local storage, such as your sign-in session, the guide chapters you have opened, the items you have ticked in a guide’s checklists and whether you have already left a review. This information remains on your device and is used only to provide the functions concerned.

3.7 Technical data

When you visit the Website, our hosting provider processes technical data that is necessary to deliver the Website to you, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your request. When you use one of our forms, Google reCAPTCHA processes technical data about your device and your interaction with the page in order to distinguish people from automated programs.

We use Plausible Analytics to measure how the Website is used, such as the pages visited, the website that referred you, and your country and type of device. Plausible does not use cookies, does not store your IP address and does not identify you; visits are counted in aggregate only.

If you accept advertising cookies, we use the Meta Pixel to measure how our ads on Facebook and Instagram perform and to show our ads to people who have visited the Website. The Meta Pixel collects information such as the pages you visit, the actions you take (for example, joining the community or booking a training) and technical data about your device, and shares it with Meta. It is loaded only if you accept it, and you can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

We use advertising cookies only if you accept them. When you first visit the Website, we ask whether you accept the Meta Pixel (see section 3.7); if you decline, it is not loaded and the Website works in the same way. We keep your choice in your browser’s local storage for twelve months, after which we ask again, and you can change it at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Our analytics (Plausible) set no cookies. The information stored in your browser’s local storage is described in section 3.6 and is strictly necessary to provide the functions you use. When you begin to fill in one of our forms, Google reCAPTCHA is loaded and may set cookies for the purpose of detecting spam and abuse. Stripe sets cookies on its own checkout pages when you make a payment.

11. Children

The Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe that a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
